Yes, library cards expire on a yearly basis. However, library cards can easily be renewed by visiting any PINES library and presenting a valid photo ID along with a current Georgia address. All fines and fees associated with the card must also be paid upon library card renewal.

Library cards can now be renewed online! Visit https://gapines.org and login to My Account in the upper right hand corner of the page. Login to your PINES account using your library card number and your PINES password. Click Here to Renew Your Account will appear on the My Account Summary Page. Online library card renewal is only available 30 days prior to the library card expiration date. 

Online library card renewal is not available if patrons have the following account issues:

  • Patron has unpaid fines
  • Patron's account is no longer active (it has not been used in more than three years)
  • Patron needs to update address or phone number
